California Eagles

Founded in Los Angeles in 2022, the California Eagles are driven by camaraderie and a passion for developing the Olympic sport of team handball in one of the largest metro areas in the US.

With around 60 diverse members, the club boasts both men’s and women’s teams. Since inception, they have won several US-sanctioned events, including the Los Angeles Invitational (Jan 2023), US Open Division Nationals (May 2023), California Cup (Jan 2024), and recently became the 2024 US National Champions.

The club aims to continue growing the sport in Southern California, with an eye on the LA28 Summer Olympics.

As a brand new club and for our first participation, we come to this tournament with a lot of humility but also with big ambitions: to qualify for the Club World Championships. We're very excited to be up against the best teams on the continent.

- Maxime Bouschet

This tournament is a huge opportunity not only to qualify for the 2024 IHF Men’s Club World Championships but also to showcase our sport on home soil. I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to compete against the best teams on our continent in New York.

- Andrew Donlin

This is our first appearance at a continental club championship and another big test for our still young club. The players are eager to perform well, but we all know this will be a highly competitive event bringing together some of the best teams from our continent. Some members of the team already have experience playing these international events, and the team will rely on them to get us as far as possible.
